The Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) is a statutory programme set up by the Scottish Government to provide those in debt with a means of paying off what they owe over a longer period of time without resorting to declaring bankruptcy (sequestration).

Every month you pay a set amount to an approved payment distributor, who divides your payment and sends it on to each of your creditors. As long as you keep to the agreed payments you are protected from being made bankrupt or from creditors enforcing your debts and obtaining an arrestment or attachment order.

Unlike other debt management options, there is no minimum amount of debt you need to owe to take part in the scheme.
