Parking in North Berwick
Parking charges will come into effect in North Berwick on 1 June 2026.
The introduction of three Controlled Parking Zones, waiting restrictions and parking charges aim to better manage limited parking, particularly in areas affected by high visitor demand.
Short stay parking is mainly closer to the town centre while slightly longer-stay options are found on the edges of the parking zones. The changes only apply to the Controlled Parking Zones in the town centre. Free parking is still available outside this area, including at Recreation Park on Dunbar Road.
The information on these pages will help you understand what the scheme means and where you can park.
Where can I park?
There are three Controlled Parking Zones: Central, East and West.

Residents in these areas can apply for parking permit for themselves, and one-day permits for their visitors. People who own or manage a second property/holiday home within these zones can also apply for a permit. Permits are linked to the car’s registration number and can be used in residents’ bays and paid for spaces within their zone.

Non-residents can park in on-street bays or town centre car parks – the costs and how long you can park for will depend on the location so please check signage.
Campervans and motorhomes can park at Haugh Road or Sewage Road car parks only.

There are no restrictions on parking outside the Controlled Parking Zones, a short walk from the town centre.
