Short-term lets
1. Permits
Property owners or managing agents can apply for permits for licensed short-term lets that are within one of the three Controlled Parking Zones.
Short-term let permits cost £30 each and there is maximum of 25 permits per property, per year. Each permit lasts for seven days.
Permits can be used in resident parking bays and in paid for bays in the zone that corresponds with the property’s address:
- East zone address: permit valid in east zone only
- West zone address: permit valid in west zone only
- Central zone address: permit valid in all zones due to limited spaces in central area
There is no time limit for resident parking bays. There may be other restrictions in place for paid for parking bays, such as time limits. Visitors should check signage before parking in any other type of bay. [link to on-street parking page]
2. Applying for a permit
Owners or managing agents can apply for and manage permits using our secure online system.
As each permit is linked to the vehicle registration number, it will need to be supplied during the application process.
Paper permits will not be issued as parking attendants will use their handheld devices to check for a valid permit using the vehicle registration number.
You will need to upload a copy of the Short-Term Let license and, if necessary the planning permission showing the property address to support the application.
Campervans or motorhomes cannot be parked in on-street parking bays and will not be covered by a short-term let permit. These vehicles can only be parked in Haugh Road and Sewage Works car parks.
3. Refunds
Refunds are not offered for short-term let property permits.
