Contacting East Lothian Council
The Coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak is presenting challenges to the delivery of public services. We are taking actions to reduce service disruption as far as possible. Our focus is on supporting our communities, service users and employees across the county in line with national guidance.
We ask for your patience when contacting our services, and that you follow the advice from NHS to keep yourselves and our staff safe. Any visitors to our facilities and area offices may be asked questions to ensure that they can access our buildings and keep our customers and staff safe. We appreciate your understanding at this time.
Getting support from your local community resilience group
Resilience groups can help in a number of ways – for example collecting shopping, essential supplies and supporting people in emergency need of care.
This could be particularly useful for people who are not able to leave their home, for example if they are self isolating and/or unwell.
Anyone requiring assistance from their local community resilience group can:
- Email us
- Telephone our public information line on 01875 824300 between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm, Monday to Friday.
We will then make the appropriate linkages so you can access help locally.
The Scottish Government is advising those who are clinically at high risk if infected with Coronavirus (COVID-19) to carry out ‘shielding’ for a period of 12 weeks.
East Lothian Council has created a web page which contains information, advice and the appropriate contact details for anyone advised to 'shield' who needs extra help.
