YPG Paid Placements for Young People
- Support to take on fully funded work placements

- If the answer is yes, then YPG Paid Placements might be for you!
What is it?
YPG Paid Placements support employers to provide work placements to 16-24 year olds currently out of work.
100% wages will be covered at Real Living Wage or National Minimum Wage.
Start-up grant provided covering training, start-up costs, and other on-boarding costs.
Placements will be 6 months with possibility to extend to 12 months should all parties agree to extending the placement.
Participants will have access to keyworker support, and the employability training courses delivered by East Lothian Works.
Who is it for?
Businesses in a position to support the placements and committed to the training and development of the participant
Businesses creating additional placements for young people in East Lothian.
All business types including sole traders.
Participants must be aged 16-24 and unemployed: however they don’t have to be in receipt of Universal Credit.
Participants must be living in East Lothian.

If you aren an employer with a young person already being supported via the DWP Kickstart Scheme, please get in touch with us, as we can support you in extending your Kickstart placementt, and we also encourage and support employers in paying a Real Living Wage to the young people on placement with them, by using Young Person's Guarantee funding.
