Covid safety measures in Polling Places

 

Guidance issued by the Scottish Government/Public Health Scotland/Electoral Commission/Election Management Board will be followed:

  • voters must wear face masks
  • a one way system will be in operation where possible
  • appropriate signage will be in place
  • information Officers will be managing queues/number of voters in at one time
  • hand sanitiser will be provided at the entrance to each polling place
  • touch points will regularly be cleaned
  • screens will be in place between poll staff and voters
  • Information Officers will be wearing face masks
  • voters should not give their poll card to staff and should take this home with them
  • voters should bring their own pen/pencil
  • single use pencils will be provided - if used, voters must take the pencil away with them
  • voters wishing to hand in a postal vote should give this to the Information Officer rather than going into the actual polling station
