Covid-19 safety measures in polling places

Guidance issued by the Scottish Government/Public Health Scotland/Electoral Commission/Election Management Board will be followed 

  • Voters must wear face masks
  • A one way system will be in operation (where possible)
  • Appropriate signage will be in place
  • Information Officers will be managing queues/number of voters in at one time
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided at the entrance to each polling place 
  • Touch points will regularly be cleaned
  • Screens will be in place between poll staff and voters
  • Information Officers will be wearing face masks 
  • Voters should not give their poll card to staff and should take this home with them
  • Voters should bring their own pen/pencil
  • Single use pencils will be provided (if taken, voters must take this away with them)
  • Voters wishing to hand in a postal vote should give this to the Information Officer rather than going into the actual polling station
