Macmillan welfare rights

If this means that your job is done, we cannot thank you enough for all your help.

Thank you so much, we are so grateful.

We work in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide welfare advice and support to people and families affected by cancer.

We have been working with Macmillan for three years and are very proud to deliver this valuable service.

As well as providing help around welfare benefits, we will also:

  • Help you to apply for grants from Macmillan
  • Assist with claiming help and health costs, such as travel to hospital
  • Advise you how to access services or equipment such as aids and adaptations or social care assessments
  • Liaise with other Agencies and local services to get you the help you need.

To find out more, or to speak to a Welfare Rights Officer in East Lothian, just contact the Welfare Rights team and we will do what we can to help you.

Find out more about welfare benefits

To find out more about welfare benefits and how we can help to support you financially, visit the Understanding Benefits section on the Macmillan website, which provides lots of helpful information.

Understanding Benefits

If you would like to know what type of benefits you may be entitled to, you can use the Macmillan Benefit Checker to do so.

The amount of benefit you may be entitled to will be subject to application and eligibility criteria, but the online Benefit Checker will let you know what to do next.

Again, if in doubt, contact the East Lothian Welfare Rights team and we can discuss this with you.
