Details for waste and recycling arrangements over the festive period.

Food Waste, Recycling and non Recyclable Waste Collections

Collections which would normally take place on:

  • Monday 25th December collections will take place on Saturday 23rd December
  • Tuesday 26th December collections will take place on Sunday 24th December
  • Monday 1st January collections will take place on Saturday 30th December
  • Tuesday 2nd January collections will take place on Sunday 31st December.

Put your wheeled bins and boxes out by 7am, as your collection will take place earlier than normal over the holidays.

Garden Waste Collections

There will be no garden waste collections between 23rd December and 7th January inclusive.

Please remember, we will only collect materials presented in the recycling and waste containers provided by East Lothian Council.

Christmas Trees

Real Christmas trees can be composted by taking them to a Recycling Centre, or put by your brown bin on garden waste collection dates in January.

Recycling Centres

The Recycling Centres are normally open seven days a week, from 8.30am to 4.15pm, over the winter months, but will be closed on 25 & 26 December and 1 & 2 January, and will close early at 2pm on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.
