Calling all artists - would you like to exhibit your work at Dunbar?
Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery is looking for artists, makers, crafters, photographers and anyone with a story to tell to get in touch to apply for exhibition space in the Community Gallery. Space is available from April to September 2018.
The Town House is right on the High Street in the centre of Dunbar, and the Community Gallery is a lovely bright space on the first floor. The building is very welcoming and is run in partnership with Dunbar and District History Society. It hosts diverse social history exhibitions, contemporary art exhibitions and events, and is also a wedding venue. The exhibitions in the Community Gallery have been very popular and contribute to the welcoming buzz of the building. Exhibitors are required to arrange for the gallery space to be invigilated during open periods (1pm to 5pm daily).
Visitors to the 2017 Community Gallery enjoyed the displays, and their comments included:
'Really enjoyed looking at all these amazing creations! They're wonderful', 'So inventive. Poignant & funny at times. Makes you think', and 'Very good evoked lots of memories of different places’, 'Beautiful photographs which do justice to the nature that surrounds us'.
Our 2017 exhibitors said:
‘The venue is ideal for attracting visitors and passers-by' and 'The staff couldn't be more helpful'.
