Complaints of antisocial behaviour lead to ASBO

An interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been granted against Kevin Yipp (39) of Newbigging, Musselburgh following an application to Edinburgh Sheriff Court by East Lothian Council.

The court was presented with details of the alleged antisocial behaviour of Mr Yipp which included shouting, swearing and repeatedly slamming doors including the communal main door at a property in Newbigging, Musselburgh

The terms of the ASBO prohibit Mr Yipp from behaving in an antisocial manner including shouting and swearing at neighbours and continually kicking and banging the main stair door housing his property. He is also prohibited from having more than two visitors within his property at any one time, except those who are there in the course of their employment.

A council spokesperson said: “A number of complaints about Mr Yipp’s antisocial behaviour have been made which has caused considerable alarm and distress to others. In addition to his own actions, which have included repeatedly thumping and banging doors within his property and regularly shouting, swearing and banging on the communal door at all hours of the day, he has hosted a significant number of visitors whose behaviour has also alarmed local residents.”
