Planned race meetings get the go ahead
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today announced that the BHA Board has granted Musselburgh Racecourse a temporary licence, which will expire on 5 May.
The BHA advised: "The BHA Board now considers it appropriate in the interests of the racecourse and the wider sport for a temporary licence to be issued. The temporary licence means that the racecourse’s fixtures which are programmed for 3 and 4 May can go ahead as scheduled."
Cllr. Fiona O’Donnell, Chair of the MRAC (Musselburgh Racecourse Associated Committee) said:
This is extremely good news and enables the next two scheduled race meetings to run as planned.Fiona O’Donnell
"Tremendous progress has been made in recent months to achieve the foundations for a solid future for Musselburgh racecourse and I believe this has been recognised by the BHA in reaching their decision. We are continuing to work with the LRS and racecourse staff to seek a sustainable long term future for Musselburgh racecourse which is a much valued asset to the county."
