Public access at a number of East Lothian public toilets is being temporarily limited to use of disabled cubicles only.

This is as a result of the impact COVID-19 is having on resources and our need to temporarily divert staff to provide enhanced cleaning within schools, nurseries, care homes and public buildings.

Changes take effect from Friday, 13 November at:

  • Shore Road, Dunbar
  • Bayswell Road, Dunbar
  • Fisherrow, Musselburgh
  • Quality Street, North Berwick
  • John Muir Country Park
  • Yellowcraig

Disabled cubicles will remain open for everybody to use at the locations listed above.

We will monitor and review daily and seek to reopen facilities as soon as possible.  All users will be able to access disabled facilities at these locations, however, the gents and ladies toilets will be closed.

This is in addition to arrangements already in place at a number of other locations where public access is temporarily limited to use of disabled cubicles (all details on website).

Meanwhile, we are planning to open the disabled cubicle in Gullane for public use in the village and will provide a further update on this soon.

We are grateful to people for their patience and understanding during what continues to be an extremely challenging time.
