Join Gordon Buchanan, the highly acclaimed television wildlife cameraman and presenter of the popular BBC Animal Family and Me series, for a unique opportunity to hear personal recollections of his globetrotting travels and to witness a world of weird, wild and wonderful wildlife – all illustrated with his own film footage and photography.

Tom Poster is a truly brilliant musician. As concerto soloist he works with the finest orchestras, he has made Jazz CD’s with Alison Balsom and he is one of the finest chamber musicians anywhere. As a recitalist he is viscerally thrilling. A former winner of the Scottish Piano Competition. Mix Beethoven’s unforgettable Moonlight Sonata with Ravel’s almost unplayable La Valse add in some wonderful late Schubert and some beautiful but unknown Nocturnes and you have a Michelin starred musical menu.

The Saltire Festival: Heidi Talbot and John McCusker

Two of folk music's most highly regarded and celebrated musicians, John McCusker and Heidi Talbot, are joining forces for the first time as a duo.

Between them they have shared the stage with among others - Paul Weller, Mark Knopfler, Alison Krauss, James Taylor, Teenage Fanclub… Since 2008 John has been a member of Mark Knopfler's band, playing arenas around the world including a double bill with Bob Dylan at The Hollywood Bowl. 2016 saw John receive the Good Tradition Award and perform with his band at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards at The Royal Albert Hall.

 Heidi has performed both as a solo artist and with the world famous group Cherish The Ladies all over North and South America, the UK and Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Heidi has been nominated for Folk Singer of the year and Best Traditional Song by BBC Radio 2, Best Live Act by the Scottish Traditional Music Awards and Best Female Vocalist at The Irish Music Awards.

Tide Lines are four young guys originally from the Highlands of Scotland. Their roots run from Hebridean Islands to Lochaber through Alness and Lossiemouth to the West End and South Side of Glasgow.
Forged from the literature and music of the areas they grew up in Tide Lines meld romantic, rural life with a record collection of classic American songwriters.
Imagine, if you will, a 70s Springsteen and an E-Street band of bagpipes and electronics. It’s a Tenth Avenue Freeze Out but not one made in New Jersey! www.tidelinesband.com 
The support band will play from 8pm, with Tide Lines on stage from 9pm.
