Pride Saltire

In support of their Equality and Diversity policy, The Brunton is working with Pride Saltire East Lothian to programme a range of events and activities. The programming will support two key events this year – LBGT History Month in February and the Pride Saltire Festival in May.

Launched in February 2018 Pride Saltire is a new organisation for East Lothian’s LGBTI community. They host many events within the community, facilitating a wide outreach and engagement programme to the people of East Lothian in an inclusive, friendly environment.
To celebrate LGBT History Month (February 2019), Pride Saltire is working in partnership with The Brunton and are directly associated with four of the events that will be taking place at The Brunton throughout February 2019. The programme is as follows:

Craig Hill: C’Mon The Lads! - Friday 01 February, 7.30pm (Age guidance: 16 plus only)

Film: Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) - Wednesday 13 February 2019, 7.30pm

Film: A Fantastic Woman (15) - Wednesday 20 February 2019, 7.30pm

Film: The Miseducation of Cameron Post (15) - Wednesday 27 February 2019, 7.30pm

The Pride Saltire Festival in East Lothian takes place on Saturday 11 May 2019 within the grounds of Cockenzie House. The theme is “Grass Root Talent” and the identity was created by students from Ross High School in Tranent. Events are currently being finalised to take place at The Brunton on Friday 10 May, to support the Pride Saltire Festival. Further details to follow.

John S Johnston, Chair of Pride Saltire:

We’re excited about having the opportunity to work with The Brunton and East Lothian Council in curating this dynamic programme of comedy and film. Pride Saltire is Scotland’s newest member to the Pride family, and is the only one celebrating February’s LGBT History Month. We’re also looking forward to creating more links with all East Lothian communities, in the run up to our Pride Saltire Festival at Cockenzie House & Gardens on 11 May 2019.”

Michael Stitt, Chair of Brunton Theatre Trust:

“We are proud to support Pride Saltire East Lothian and its commitment to LGBTI equality. LGBT History Month in February is an opportunity to both celebrate the contribution of LGBTI people and to tackle discrimination and The Brunton is delighted to host associated events to recognise this. We are excited to continue our support and collaboration during East Lothian’s Pride Saltire Festival in May 2019.”
