How to arrange your citizenship ceremony in East Lothian.

When you get your invitation letter from the Home Office email it to:  Citizenships@eastlothian.gov.uk with: 1. photographic identification and 2. your telephone number.  

When you get your invitation letter from the Home Office, at the same time the Registrar’s office you selected on your application gets your Naturalisation Certificate.

The Registrar will contact you to arrange your British Citizenship Ceremony. Ceremonies happen face to face at John Muir House, Haddington.

During the ceremony you will be asked if you want to take the Oath of Allegiance or the Affirmation of Allegiance. The Home Office will send you the wording for this.

You will be presented your certificate at the ceremony by the Chief Executive or her representative.
