Royal Mackintosh Hotel, Dunbar
The Royal Mackintosh hotel comprises 16 en-suite bedrooms, 2 licensed bars, a restaurant, and a function suite. The owner of the business is keen to make the hotel as sustainable as possible without compromising the historic character of the building.
Actions identified to decarbonise:
- fluorescent lighting replaced with LED light panels
- 120kW gas fired boiler replaced with a 9kW air to water source heat pump
- solar PV installation (the building has been using all the generated power)
- replaced freezers in the café to more efficient models
