Council Tax charges 2026/27
It was agreed at a meeting of East Lothian Council on Tuesday 24 February 2026 that Council Tax levels would increase by 7.5% for the financial year 2026/27. The band D level of Council Tax will increase to £1,697.62 for the year.
The Scottish average band D Council Tax figure for 2025/26 was £1,579.18. This figure does not include water or waste water charges.
Your Council Tax bill includes charges for your water supply and waste water collection services from Scottish Water and these charges have increased by 8.67% for the financial year 2026/27. Although we collect these charges on behalf of Scottish Water, we are not responsible for setting these charges.
