First Steps: housing advice and tenancy guide

East Lothian Council, in partnership with Who Cares? Scotland and the Champions Board East Lothian, has developed a bespoke tenant’s handbook titled First Steps: Housing Advice and Tenancy Guide for care-experienced young people.

Care experienced young people, through the Champions Board East Lothian, played a key role in shaping both the development and design of this guide.

The guide aims to support care experienced young people as they prepare for and manage their first tenancy, ensuring they have access to the necessary support systems and providing clear steps toward independent living.
