Ambition Fund

Moving from teenage years to adulthood is a big step for anyone. For young people who are also leaving care, there can be additional challenges.

East Lothian Council is a corporate parent to over 160 young people in our area aged 16-25 who have left care. We want to help them to achieve their ambitions in life, whatever they may be. That's why we're supporting the Ambition Fund - a registered charity hosted by Who Cares? Scotland to help young people access things that many others may take for granted. That includes driving lessons, car insurance, gym membership, WIFI or technology.

Applications to the awards will be approved by a panel and bursaries paid once a year.

You can help

We're asking everyone to consider supporting the Ambition Fund. You can choose to make a one-off donation (including through Paypal or Apple Pay either as an individual or following a charity fundraiser) or pay monthly by direct debit or through Give as You Earn. All of the money will go to help young people leaving care in East Lothian. For example:

£10 will provide a contribution towards WIFI

£15 will provide a contribution towards gym membership

£20 will provide a contribution towards a driving theory test

As the Ambition Fund is a registered charity you can also choose to add Gift Aid to your donation, increasing the total by 25% at no additional cost to you.
