The Countryside Team comprises East Lothian Council Countryside Rangers, working with Officer staff covering, Access, Biodiversity and Countryside matters under the direction of the Countryside Team Manager. Countryside Rangers and Officer staff come from diverse backgrounds but share strong knowledge of wildlife, natural history, and environmental issues, along with a commitment to public engagement.
Core roles and responsibilities:

conservation and monitoring
site management
access and outdoor rights
coastal pressures and landscape protection

We also support the East Lothian Countryside Volunteers, offering opportunities for group and lone volunteering across various conservation tasks.
