Opening Hours Change from Monday 4 May 2026
From Monday 4 May, Port Seton Library will be amending its opening hours to Thursday and Friday 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm and alternative Saturdays 10am to 1pm. The change means that as of Tuesday 5 May Port Seton Library will be closed on a Tuesday - a reduction of 6 hours. This does not impact any ongoing activities which take place in the library on a regular basis and brings weekly opening hours in line with our other smaller community libraries in East Linton, Gullane, Longniddry and Ormiston.
The change in opening hours enables the library to be used as temporary venue to deliver adult day services Monday to Wednesday, ahead of and throughout the refurbishment works to relocate Haddington Day Centre into Tynebank.
The Saturdays we are open for the next few months will be:
June 13 and 27, July 11 and 25

Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible person aged 14 or over at all times, including during events and activities. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in the library. Due to the multiple demands on staff time and attention, library staff are not able to supervise children in the library. The library is a public space that may be accessed by anyone, and children and young people under the age of 18 remain the responsibility of their legal guardian while on library premises.
