Would you like to meet new people, or to try something new? The library may have the group for you.   

All our libraries offer a range of free activities for all ages, which include supported and self-led groups, all with a warm welcome.

In all libraries you will find information boards and community folders, where you can find out about local groups and activities. 

If you can’t find what you are looking for our library team will be happy to support you in finding out what you want to know. 

Groups for families, children and young people

  • Bookbug's early years sessions 
  • Lego clubs if you love building come and create Lego masterpieces
  • enjoy some free play and let your imagination soar at our Play Jam sessions
  • learn how to play chess or roleplay with new friends at our Chess Club or Dungeons and Dragons groups
  • learn how to code and create your own characters in Code Club
  • we also offer book groups for children and young people

Groups for adults

  • book groups are offered at our libraries
  • come and learn new craft skills or finish that project with some company at a craft club
  • if you're interested in your local area or discovering shared memories - join a memories group or visit our Local History Centre
  • try a new board game or play with some new opponents at a board game club
