North Berwick parking scheme

Parking charges apply from 10am until 4pm Monday to Saturday, and from 1pm until 4pm on Sundays.

Tantallon Terrace charges are from 10am until 6pm Monday to Saturday, and from 1pm until 6pm on Sundays.

You can pay through the RingGo mobile app and through on-street paid for machines using cash, card or contactless. If a parking machine is unavailable, please use one of the online methods to avoid receiving a Penalty Charge Notice.

How much you pay and how long you can park for depends on the location. Areas closest to the town centre in high demand have restrictions to encourage turnover of spaces. All drivers should check on-street signage to ensure they comply with the parking rules.

Some areas, including High Street, offer up to 45 minutes free parking, anytime during the charge period (10am to 4pm). We recommend drivers register their vehicle upon their arrival for the 45 minutes of free parking for ease of use, particularly if they may be staying for a longer period of time and can make a payment at the same time. However, drivers will not receive a PCN during the 45 minutes of free parking if they do not register their vehicle as long as they depart before the free time limit is reached.

On-street parking bays are not suitable for campervans and motorhomes. These vehicles can only be parked in car parks at Haugh Road and Sewage Works. The parking management scheme does not include dedicated motorcycle parking. However, the Traffic Regulation Order allows motorcycles without an attached side car to park in all parking places without charge or time restriction.

Blue Badge holders can park for free in disabled parking spaces, paid for parking bays and on single and double yellow lines if there are no loading restrictions and it is safe to do so.

These bays are only for residents displaying a valid permit. Parking in a marked resident bay, even if you have paid for on-street parking, will lead to a Penalty Charge Notice. Some roads are for resident parking only.
