Food safety and licensing

The environmental health food & safety team are directly involved in the licensing process of premises and persons in terms of:

• market traders
• premises licenses
• public entertainment
• street traders
• tattooing and skin piercing, including electrolysis, ear piercing and acupuncture

Our environmental protection team are directly involved in the licensing process of premises and persons in terms of:

• animal boarding
• caravan sites
• houses in multiple occupation
• late hours catering
• pet shops
• riding establishments
• short term lets

Our environmental health service are consulted and respond to all Licensing Applications that are submitted to East Lothian Council.

Whether it be a public health or business regulation input (or indeed both), we ensure that the applicant is aware of the requirements necessary for operating safely and in compliance with the law.
