The Tree and Woodland Strategy, Tree Protection Orders and Tree Works.
When submitting a planning application the location and canopy spread of any trees, hedges and groups of shrubs within the site and the location and canopy spread of any trees adjacent to the site should be included on the plans submitted. Including such information on the application drawings may speed up the planning process.
Trees to be retained and trees proposed for removal should be clearly identified on the plans.
It is our policy that all development should comply with the guidance provided in British Standard BS5837: 2012- 'Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction - recommendations' (this can be obtained from the British Standards Institute). Including such information on the application drawings may speed up the planning process. The NHBC Standards should also be referred to.
