The Licensing Forum reviews the operation of all new licensing legislation and gives advice and recommendations to the local licensing board.

Statement of licensing policy

The East Lothian Licensing Board are required to publish a Statement of Licensing Policy every 5 years. Premises licence holder and premises managers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the document.

  • promotion of the Licensing Objectives
  • BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) policy
  • local conditions
  • minimum unit pricing
  • licensed hours for on and off sale
  • general extension to licensed hours in respect of the festive period, now set for each year
  • Provisional/ Premises Licence and Major Variation applications requirement to complete a supplementary information form
  • Occasional Licence application, repeat occasional licence applications and interplay with provisional premises licences
