Improving the Cancer Journey

Linking with Macmillan Cancer Support, the Improving the Cancer Journey Programme offers personal-centred advice and information to access the support you need.

Being diagnosed with cancer can be overwhelming and many people don't know where to go for support. East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership and Macmillan Cancer Support want to offer everyone affected by cancer (including families and carers) time with a Link Worker to think about what matters to them and access to the support they need.

Improving Cancer Journey - Information

The Improving the Cancer Journey programme is for anyone over 16 affected by cancer at any point on their cancer journey.

Here are some of the things the team can offer support with:

  • money or housing worries
  • work
  • caring responsibilities
  • physical concerns
  • emotional concerns.

Anyone affected by cancer can contact the team directly themselves or they can be referred by someone that supports them. If you've recently had a diagnosis of cancer, you may have received a letter through the post asking you if you would like to use the service.

You can contact us now or at any time in the future.

So, if you have cancer or if you support someone with cancer please get in touch. The number and email below will take you to our Lothian Admin team, who will set up your appointment with an East Lothian Improving the Cancer Journey Link Worker.
