The Scottish Government legislated to integrate health and social care services in 2014. As a result the East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (ELHSCP) was formed.
ELHSCP brings together services from East Lothian Council and NHS Lothian to provide a range of social care, social work, health, rehabilitation, early intervention, and learning disability support services for the people of East Lothian.
To support all people in East Lothian to live healthy lives, to achieve their potential to live independently, and exercise choice over the services they use.
The East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (ELHSCP) is overseen by a governing body called the East Lothian Integration Joint Board (IJB). The IJB is made up of voting members from East Lothian Council and NHS Lothian, as well as senior operational management and clinical professional leads from ELHSCP, third sector partners, community, staff and service user representatives.
The IJB receives funds from both East Lothian Council and NHS Lothian on an annual basis to deliver delegated adult health and social care services. The IJB determines where these funds should be invested, and sets strategic objectives and delivery priorities to meet the needs of East Lothian's communities.
Functions delegated to IJBs include:
The arrangements for the Integration Joint Board and Health and Social Care Partnership are set out in the IJB’s Integration Scheme.
The strategic objectives and delivery priorities are detailed in the IJB Strategic Plan.

To ensure that we are supporting you to achieve this goal, we want you to have your say, and be actively involved, and help influence the decisions made about the delivery of health and social care services now and into the future.
ELHSCP uses Integrated Impact Assessments to consider the potential impacts (negative and positive) on people, the environment and the economy when developing policies and making service decisions, and to ensure that we meet our legal responsibilities.
