Strategic Planning Group

Section 32 of The Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014 says that Integration Authorities must establish a Strategic Planning Group (SPG). The Act also sets out the membership, role and function of the SPG.

Membership
The Strategic Planning Group is a representative group that includes representation from the public, people who use services, their families and Carers and organisations that deliver, or have an interest in, adult health and social care.

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
A Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) has been developed to help ensure that strategic planning by East Lothian Integration Joint Board (IJB) is based on understanding of current and predicted population needs.

The JSNA provides an analysis of data on a range of demographic and health and social care topics for East Lothian. The JSNA is reviewed and updated on a regular basis as new information becomes available.

The JSNA includes sections on:

  • Understanding our Population
  • The Building Blocks of Health (including Education, Income & Employment, Transport, Housing, Social Connections, Climate & the Environment)
  • Risk Factors
  • Population Health Outcomes
