Tyne and Esk Rural Development Fund

With the closure of the 2014-2020 LEADER programme, the Scottish Government invested £3.5m funding to test new ways to support and deliver on future community led local development (CLLD) in Scotland.  A further £11.6m has been confirmed to support CLLD in 2022/23 providing an opportunity to continue to build on the learning from delivery of last year's projects.

The new programme differs from LEADER in that it is less risk averse and a more trust-based grant making process enabling new partnerships to be formed and enabling the Local Action Group to reach community groups previously put off by the bureaucracy of the LEADER approach.

CLLD offers:

  • a range of small grants for projects of different sizes and types
  • support during the whole funding process, so you will never feel alone
  • community representatives who ensure funding is spent wisely across the rural communities in East Lothian and Midlothian

Please note: the funding covers the rural areas of East Lothian and Midlothian.  The urban centres of Musselburgh and Dalkeith are excluded - with the exception of Dalkeith Country Park.
