Regular Events and Activities for Kids!

Are you a parent or carer? If so we have plenty of regular events and activities that might interest you and many of them are free! We offer drop in themed craft sessions in holiday periods, at weekends and on Friday afternoons. We also have regular scavenger hunts and storytelling on top of the numerous activities such as themed games and colouring in offered throughout our exhibitions. These activities are generally suitable for primary school-aged children and their accompanying adults. Details of what is coming next are on our events and activities pages.

Passport to the Past

Why not come and be a museum detective, test your wits with our activity sheets or pick up a free Passport to the Past? Collect stickers and stamps at any of East Lothian Council's museums to win our special Museum Challenger badge!

Summer Holiday Workshops

Join us for our popular workshops over the summer holidays. Full details of workshops and how to book will be online from mid-May onwards. Please contact individual museums for details of availability. Workshops last 1 to 1.5 hours and are designed to be accessible to all.

Childrens University

All our museums are Learning Destinations for the Childrens University. The Children's University is a fabulous charity that encourages children aged 5 to 14 to try new experiences and develop new skills and interests by participating in Learning Activities outside school. Remember to bring your Learning Passport with you when you visit!

Tiny Tuesdays at Prestongrange Museum

For our very youngest visitors there are the very popular 'Tiny Tuesdays' sessions at Prestongrange Museum (April to September on a Tuesday morning) where we welcome preschool children for songs, stories and crafts in the relaxing atmosphere of the Visitor Centre where tea, coffee, juice and snacks are available. £1 per craft.
