Digital Inclusion
Digital inclusion is about ensuring that everyone has access to opportunities and benefits that the internet and digital technology offer, for example looking for employment, accessing public services, learning opportunities and applying for benefits.
We recognises that not everyone in the community is able to access digital technology for a variety of reasons including the cost of computer equipment and maintaining internet access or they can lack the skills and confidence to use technology.
The council has developed a digital stratagy plan to set out the steps that the council can take to increase access to digital skills and technology and support those at risk of digital exclusion. The strategy seeks to motivate and empower communities to see the benefits of using digital technology and to realise the benefits that digital inclusion can bring with it.
