Group visits and learning in museums

If you are considering bringing a group to one of our museums please get in touch.

We would love to hear from you so we can arrange a tour, an activity or a workshop just for you! A visit to a museum can be a great part of your topic at school or a real source of inspiration for groups of all ages. We've enjoyed welcoming school children, U3A groups, adult education groups, after school and holiday clubs, home educator groups, Brownies, Cubs, parties from day centres and many, many more.

If you would like to bring your class to one of our museums we have information and resources you could use to have a very successful self directed visit at any of the sites. If you would like our help to create the perfect visit just let us know.

We also have a number of existing programmes that might be of interest. Perhaps you are doing a John Muir Award? A visit to John Muir's Birthplace is the ideal complement to your learning and is free to East Lothian Schools. 

There are also plenty of resources available online that you can use to support your activity or learning. We have artefact loan boxes that are available free to borrow (if you are based in East Lothian) on topics such as the World Wars, the Victorians, Old Toys, the Egyptians, working Life in East Lothian and many more.
