We have four museums and support two community museums across the region, offering engaging ways to explore East Lothian’s heritage and history.
If you’re interested in industrial and social history, Prestongrange Museum tells the stories of Scotland's industrial heritage in the wildlife haven of Prestongrange Heritage Park and can be paired with visits to Musselburgh Museum or the John Gray Centre Museum in Haddington.
Fans of conservation pioneer John Muir will enjoy his birthplace in Dunbar, which can be combined with the historic Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery or the Coastal Communities Museum in North Berwick.
East Lothian’s towns and villages are picturesque, with unique shops, cafés and restaurants. Our knowledgeable staff are always happy to share local insights.
