Travel through time and discover more about the history and pre-history of this captivating coastline and associated hinterland.
Museum exhibits represent both ancient and more recent history. You may even recognise yourself in a collection of old photos. The children’s area provides a lively way to make history fun, with plenty of hands-on activities and the chance to dress up as a range of story book characters, from pirates to princesses. Displays change annually. Group visits are welcome by prior arrangement.
The museum is operated by enthusiastic volunteers from the Coastal Communities Museum Trust with support from East Lothian Council. Located in a 19th century school building, above North Berwick Library, (lift access available), the museum is an easy walk along the seafront from the Scottish Seabird Centre. Visit www.coastalmuseum.org for more information.
