Free events providing information about electric vehicles

With over 50 electric vehicle chargepoints on track for the county this year, East Lothian Council is hosting a series of events to promote electric vehicles in the county. Speakers will explain the ‘ins and outs’ of owning an electric car, including what it costs, what grants are available and how to use the public chargepoints. There will also be vehicle demonstrations and test drives available.

By the summer, Rapid chargepoints will be found in every East Lothian town centre, and at strategic points along the main roads, allowing drivers to make a quick top-up in under 30 minutes. In addition, every village which has requested one should have its own 4-hour (Fast) chargepoint.  A map of planned chargepoints is available at www.eastlothian.gov.uk/electriceastlothian
