Court action taken following complaints

An Interim ASBO was granted at Edinburgh Sheriff Court against Steven Kempton (46) of Whin Park, Cockenzie following a number of complaints about antisocial behaviour.

The Interim Order prohibits Mr Kempton from causing alarm or distress to residents of or visitors to Whin Park, Cockenzie by shouting, swearing, using abusive language and making excessive noise within his dwelling house. He is also prohibited from allowing more than two visitors in his home at any one time, with the exception of those persons who are there in the course of their employment.    

A council spokesperson said: “East Lothian Council, with the support of Police Scotland, will not hesitate in taking robust action against those whose behaviour causes alarm and distress to others. We would encourage all those affected by antisocial behaviour to contact our Safer Communities Team on 01875 824 307.”
