Cockenzie man receives interim ASBO

An interim ASBO was issued at Edinburgh Sheriff Court against Scott Hardie (37) of Winton Park, Cockenzie prohibiting him from shouting, swearing and using abusive, aggressive or intimidating language or behaviour within his property and Winton Park, Cockenzie.

The terms of the interim ASBO also prohibit Mr Hardie from engaging in acts of physical violence within the property and  Winton Park, and of encouraging visitors to do the same.

In addition, Mr Hardie is also prohibited from generating any kind of excessive noise within his home.

A further condition of the interim ASBO prohibits Mr Hardie from permitting or allowing two visitors to his home at any one time, except those who are attending there in the course of their employment.

A council spokesperson said: “Residents of East Lothian can be assured that the council, in partnership with Police Scotland, will make use of the available antisocial behaviour legislation, when appropriate, to address the type of behaviour reported in this case. Anyone in East Lothian who is affected by any form of antisocial behaviour can report it via the council’s Antisocial Behaviour Helpline on 01875 824 307”.
