As East Lothian prepares to welcome some of the world’s top golfers, several local food and drink firms have been lined up to sell products at the ASI Scottish Open and Ladies Scottish Open.

Food traders appointed to the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open include street food from Wild At Heart and Alandas, which will provide local seafood and ice cream.

Suppliers include local firms providing coffee, seafood, vegetables, eggs, rolls, fruit and dairy.

Bars will be run by Musselburgh-based Hickory, while hospitality suppliers include Belhaven Smokehouse, Yester Farm Dairies, John Gilmour butchers, Luca’s and Premium Bakery.

At the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open, Luca’s and The Pimm’s Truck will be open for business.

The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open will be held between 10 and 14 July while the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open takes place from 8 to 11 August. Both events will be held at the Renaissance Club.

Provost John McMillan, East Lothian Council’s Spokesperson for Economic Development and Tourism, said:

“We’re eagerly anticipating the return of the ASI Scottish Open and Ladies Scottish Open to East Lothian.

“As well as being home to Scotland’s Golf Coast, East Lothian is renowned as Scotland’s Food and Drink County.

“With such a magnificent array of award-winning local traders, producers and suppliers, I’m delighted that an opportunity has been identified to showcase some of the best products which East Lothian has to offer.

“We’re very grateful to the event organisers for ensuring local suppliers are at the heart of their plans. The council has been working closely with the organisers and partners to plan for and deliver two memorable golfing spectacles.

“I’m sure visitors and spectators will greatly enjoy sampling some of these products, while also taking in the action at The Renaissance Club.”

Brian Galbraith, Managing Director, Hickory, said:

“Hickory Bars has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2015 and being part of the prestigious Scottish Open is the feather in our cap. Not only is it an honour to be chosen as the sole bar supplier at the event but, it’s fantastic to be amongst such dedicated East Lothian food and drinks brands representing the area. It’s a great opportunity to showcase East Lothian and the wonderful, diverse produce and suppliers we have on our doorstep to a worldwide audience.”
