Updates on children's hubs
Since opening on 25 March, our six Children’s Hubs have been providing emergency learning and childcare for key workers following the nationwide closure of all schools.
Schools were due to be closed to all for a holiday on Monday, 4 May and on Friday, 8 May for the anniversary of VE Day.
We have contacted parents/carers whose children have been attending the hubs to identify whether childcare will be required on these dates.
As a result, we will continue to operate four of the Children’s Hubs on 4 May and 8 May. These will be located in Musselburgh, Tranent, Haddington and Dunbar. The four hubs will operate between 9am and 3pm on these dates.
They will operate on a similar partnership basis as during the Easter holidays, led by Active Schools staff supported by voluntary organisations and other council teams.
The six Children’s Hubs, including those in Prestonpans and North Berwick, will continue to operate on all other weekdays during May. This includes Monday, 18 May, which is a school staff in-service day.
