Information on upcoming office closures September 2023
The following Council offices will be closed on Friday 15 and Monday 18 September:
- John Muir House (Council Headquarters), Haddington.
- Brunton Hall, Musselburgh.
- All other Area Offices, Libraries (including The John Gray Centre) and Community Centres, will also be closed over this weekend.
Registration of births, deaths and marriages
The Registration service will be closed on Friday 15 and Monday 18 September. For emergencies call 01875 612818.
Social Work emergencies
In cases of Social Work emergencies please call 01875 824309.
Housing emergencies
Housing Repair emergencies only – 01875 612818. Homeless Hotline – Freephone 0800 169 1611.
Scottish Welfare Fund
The Financial Support Team will be closed on Friday 15 September and Monday 18 September 2023.
Scottish Welfare Fund applications can be made online 24/7 at www.eastlothian.gov.uk/scottishwelfarefund during the closure and will be dealt with as soon as possible on the teams return.

Brunton Theatre and Box Office
The Brunton Box Office will be closed on Friday 15 and Monday 18 September but will be open on Saturday 16 September. Please visit www.thebrunton.co.uk.
The Bistro will also be closed Friday 15 to Monday 18 September inclusive.
Museums
The John Gray Centre Museum will close from Friday 15 to Monday 18 September.
Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery, John Muir’s Birthplace and Prestongrange Museum will remain open.
