COVID-19 home testing kits, suitable for people with no symptoms, will be available from a number of locations in the coming days.

The kits will be available as follows:

Thursday 16 - Musselburgh Library 11-1

Friday 17 - Haddington community hospital 11-1

Saturday 18 - Dunbar garden centre 11-1

Please note that the length of the above sessions is subject to availability. If demand is high and all kits are collected, we may need to leave earlier.

Getting tested regularly – even if you feel well - is seen as an important mitigation in helping to curb spread of the virus. It's possible to have COVID-19 without showing symptoms, which means the virus can be passed on to others without knowing an individual is infectious.

It’s even more important now the Omicron variant is spreading in Scotland and is more transmissible than previous strains. Advice from the Scottish Government is to ‘flow before you go’ – i.e. take a lateral flow test before you attend any social gathering – to minimise the risk of transmission.

There are other options for people without symptoms to get tested - find out more about these.
