The East Lothian Piano Festival will take place this Saturday at the Brunton Hall, Musselburgh. The Festival is organised by East Lothian Council’s Instrumental Music Service.

Around 65 young pianists from primary-aged beginners to S6 musicians will gather to perform a short programme of their choosing to a live audience. This is the first year since 2020 that the performance has been able to be in person; last year’s Festival event was held online with children and young people submitting video pieces.

A council spokesperson said: “This is a lovely occasion and gives even our youngest musicians the opportunity to perform and showcase their skills. We are delighted to welcome back our live audience this year and to announce the return of Mr Graham McDonald as our guest artist. Graham has been an ongoing source of inspiration to our young pianists over the years and we are delighted that he will once again offer feedback to each performer on the day.”

The Festival has been relocated from Haddington Town House due to the ongoing building works in that venue.
