East Lothian Council Instrumental Music Service invites you to attend ‘An Anthem for East Lothian’ at St Mary’s Parish Church, Haddington on Sunday 29 May 2022.

An Anthem for East Lothian brings together instrumentalists and singers from across the county to perform together in a celebration of who we are and where we live. Under the baton of renowned conductor Sian Edwards, this event marks the launch of a new partnership between East Lothian Instrumental Music Service and the Lammermuir Festival. The performance will involve professional musicians, IMS young musicians and tutors, Dunbar Voices, East Lothian based community musicians, local children and families in the Anthem Choir and Preston Lodge High School Pipe Band.

The public dress rehearsal will be at 3.30pm, with the world premiere performance and recording of this incredible work by Liam Patterson at 4.30pm. Performances will last around 20 minutes.

Audiences are limited to a maximum of 200 per session and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We ask you to attend either the 3.30pm or the 4.30pm performance and we will send confirmation regarding applications for tickets on 26th May.  We will do our best to accommodate ticket requests for your preferred performance but may need to invite you to attend an alternative performance if required.

Please sign-up here.

The event will conform to 'COVID Sense' guidance including operating the venue at 80% of normal capacity, increased ventilation and enhanced cleaning.  Attendees are encouraged to wear face coverings and follow strict hand hygiene and should not attend if they are experiencing COVID symptoms.

East Lothian Council's Instrumental Music Service Team Manager Jonathan Gawn said: "St Mary’s is an incredible location and we're delighted that we will also be recording this project to share our young people’s talents as widely as possible. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible on the day."
