Traffic Regulation Orders to introduce and/or amend enforceable waiting restrictions in various roads in North Berwick are now available to view.

This includes the introduction of controlled parking zones, with permits available for residents for an annual charge, and time restrictions and charges for on street parking and parking within the town centre off street car parks.

It provides further opportunity for people to discover more about the proposals and to raise objections.

A copy of the proposed Order, Schedules, plans showing the extent of the restrictions and the statement of reasons for making the Order can be viewed at Reception, John Muir House, Haddington, North Berwick Community Centre, North Berwick library and Gullane library.  

These documents are available for inspection for the period from Monday 28 August 2023 to Sunday 1 October 2023 during normal office hours. They will also be available at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk  and https://northberwickparking.commonplace.is/  (via the North Berwick Draft TRO – Document Library button)   

A council spokesperson said: “In line with the current Traffic Orders Regulations, following a period of extensive consultation, East Lothian Council is now providing notice of the making of the Traffic Regulation Orders. Details of these Orders have been shared with a range of stakeholders in North Berwick and further afield in East Lothian. A five week period is now available for individuals and/or groups to raise any objections to these TROs.”

Any person may before expiry of the period noted above object to the making of the Order. Any objection must be in writing and must specify the grounds thereof and should be addressed to:
