Scottish Gas Networks (SGN) has confirmed a start date for essential upgrades on the gas network on the A199 in Haddington.
SGN said the work was being carried out to ensure nearby homes and businesses will continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.
The ten-week project will begin on Tuesday, 15 July.
For the safety of its workers, SGN are installing temporary traffic lights at the Vert Roundabout between Haldane Avenue and the A199 for the duration.
Aberlady Road will also be closed at its junction with a local diversion route in place for motorists.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout.
An SGN spokesperson said: “We understand this is a busy route and that roadworks can be frustrating. We'll be working as quickly as we can to complete our work and fully re-open the road.”
An East Lothian Council spokesperson said: “The council have co-ordinated these essential works with SGN to ensure these are carried out efficiently and safely while minimising the disruption to road users as best we can.”
