Don’t miss your chance to see a unique exhibition of wonderful works from the Glasgow Boys & Girls, Glasgow School and the Scottish Colourists.
The exhibition is still on at Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery until Sunday 27 July.
The works have been loaned to Dunbar Museum & Gallery (Town House, High Street) by private collector Ross Cooper and feature the ‘golden age’ of Scottish art from 1880 to 1940.
Ross, from Dunbar, is a Curator, Dancer, Artistic Director and Engineer. He said: “This was one of the most dynamic and influential periods in Scottish Art and the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to see the evolution of modern Scottish identity through the eyes of its artists. It’s an exhibition that highlights both individual genius and collective energy.”
This richly curated exhibition brings together paintings, illustrations, and decorative works that reflect a time of creative revolution in Scotland. Visitors will encounter the expressive elegance of Edward Atkinson Hornel, the symbolism of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, embroidery of Ann MacBeth and the bold work of Samuel Peploe, F.C.B. Cadell, and J.D. Fergusson, among many others.
The exhibition is on now until Sunday 27 July, 1-5pm, admission is free.
