East Lothian Council is working on proposals to improve parking management in the town centres of Dunbar, Tranent, Musselburgh and Haddington.
During each of the public consultations held on the proposed schemes, residents and businesses provided extremely valuable feedback to help inform their development.
The council’s goal has always been to work with the communities involved to explore ways to address local parking challenges and make it easier for people to access businesses and amenities.
The council had aimed to bring the proposed schemes for Dunbar, Tranent and Musselburgh before Council in October with Haddington to follow in December.
A council spokesperson said: “We remain committed to producing the best possible proposals for each town, tailored to their individual needs. That includes fully reviewing the feedback from residents and businesses, along with the data collected, to ensure the proposals reflects the positive engagement with the consultation process.
“Given the level of engagement and feedback, more time is required to shape and develop the most appropriate parking scheme for each town. We now intend to bring the proposals for Dunbar, Tranent and Musselburgh before Council in December alongside Haddington to give them all the attention and consideration they deserve.”
