Work on repairs following a sinkhole at Lamer Street in Dunbar has been continuing despite recent challenging weather.
Our teams responded quickly to stabilise the area affected in the immediate aftermath and prevent further deterioration before progressing our repair plan. This also involved the coordination of work with utilities to ensure all services were reconnected.
A repair to the breach of the seawall, which was damaged by tidal conditions and led to collapse of a section of road, is expected to be finished in the coming days. It is then hoped that backfilling the area of road affected will be completed by the early part of next week.
Arrangements are being made to resurface the road before a timescale for reopening is confirmed.
We are very grateful to our contractor AG Thomson for their support in responding to the issue and progressing repair work.
We also appreciate the patience and understanding of local residents in recent weeks.
